French woman named as cyclist who died in horror crash with lorry in Glasgow

A French cyclist has been named as the victim of a horrific road crash involving HGV lorry.The 22-year-old woman was cycling at the King George V Bridge junction in Broomielaw, Glasgow, at 10am on Friday, January 27 hen the incident took place.

Emergency services were scrambled to the scene and, on arrival, the woman was found injured.She was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where she was sadly pronounced dead a short time later.

Officers from Police Scotland have named her as Emma Newman, from Moulineaux, Paris, in France.Nobody else was injured during the incident.

The road was closed for nine and a half hours to allow CID to carry out investigations.Officers have asked any witnesses, including those with dash-cam footage, to come forward.
