French Firm The Yard VFX Joins UK Screen Alliance Following Opening Of London Studio

France‘s The Yard VFX has signed up for membership of UK Screen Alliance, the leading trade association representing the UK’s visual effects, TV and Film Studios, post-production, and animation sectors.

The Paris-based company said the move, just months after it opened a London branch headed by Ben Owen, marked “a milestone” in its commitment to contributing to and collaborating with the creative industries in the UK. “Joining UK Screen Alliance underscores our strategy to align with partners that are genuinely advocating for the betterment of the UK’s VFX industry and its entire ecosystem,” said Laurens Ehrmann, founder and senior VFX supervisor at The Yard. “Their advocacy and recent successes, particularly in securing a more attractive incentive structure, are perfectly aligned with our vision to expand in markets rich with talent and opportunity.

We are looking forward to collaborating with other members to advance the screen sector.” UK Screen Alliance CEO Neil Hatton welcomed The Yard BVFX becoming a member, noting that the recent uplift in the UK’s VFX incentive (to 39% from 34% for qualifying costs from January 2025) and the strong skills base were a draw for international companies. “We look forward to The Yard participating in our meetings and events, bringing their own unique perspective and expertise.” As a member, The Yard will be able to engage in shaping policy discussions, network with industry leaders, and access resources and training.
