Frank Sinatra’s timeless classic My Way tops the funeral charts, a study has revealed. Ol’ Blue Eyes’ 1969 hit record is played at one out of 25 final farewells with Sarah Brightman’s Time to Say Goodbye second and We’ll Meet Again by Dame Vera Lynn in third place.
Research by insurer SunLife found tearjerkers like Eva Cassidy’s Somewhere Over the Rainbow, Wind Beneath my Wings by Bette Midler and Robbie Williams’ ballad Angels also made the top 10.
But far from being a completely sombre playlist, many of the dearly departed have made mourners smile with song choices such as Always Look on the Bright Side of Life by the Monty Python team and Eric Morecombe and Ernie Wise’s uplifting Bring Me Sunshine. What song would you choose to play at
