Frank Lampard has been left confused by Erik ten Hag's plan for Mason Mount and he has questioned why Manchester United signed the midfielder from Chelsea.
United signed Mount last summer for an initial fee of £55million and he signed a five-year deal with the option of a further year, but his time at the club thus far has not been a success.
Mount was brought to Old Trafford to play in a deeper midfield role and there are doubts about whether he is suitable for that position.
He has also sustained different injuries and he last played against Luton Town on November 11 when picking up a calf problem.
