Jennifer Maas TV Business Writer Entangled Publishing, the publisher of Rebecca Yarros‘ hit romantasy novel “Fourth Wing,” is issuing calm before the storm on the release date of Yarros’ latest book by telling readers it’s addressed the misprint issues that affected sequel “Iron Flame.” “Onyx Storm,” the third book in Yarros’ “Empyrean” series following dragon-rider and war-college student Violet, hits shelves Tuesday with a two-million-copy first print run of its “deluxe edition” and more than one million pre-orders across print, digital and audiobook formats.
Anticipation for the book release has been high (stoked by the “Fourth Wing” TV series in development at Amazon) and so have fans’ fears that the misprint issues that plagued “Iron Flame’s” release would affect “Onyx Storm” as well.
According to several videos posted on TikTok in November 2023 amid the “Fourth Wing” sequel’s launch, customers found damaged and bleeding sprayed book edges, typos, missing pages, and upside-down pages and endpapers in certain copies of “Iron Flame.” Entangled took action at that time to refund books and correct the issue, and says it has learned from that experience ahead of “Onyx Storm.” “We are incredibly proud of the beautiful deluxe editions of ‘Onyx Storm,’” Entangled Publishing vice president of operations Stacy Abrams said. “Our Art and Design team is one of the best in the business, and really outdid themselves.
We also took extra care to learn from our experiences and reader feedback to ensure these books are as pristine and gorgeous in fans’ hands as they were in our imaginations.
