Princess Sofia and Prince Carl Philip of Sweden have welcomed their fourth child – and first daughter – together.The happy news was announced today by the Swedish Royal Family.
Currently holding the fourth spot in line to the throne, behind his sister Crown Princess Victoria and his niece Princess Estelle and nephew Prince Oscar, Prince Carl Philip's newborn baby girl now proudly stands as eighth in line for the Royal succession.
In an official announcement today, the Swedish Royal Court shared the joyous news: "Today, Friday 7th February at 1.10 p.m., HRH Princess Sofia gave birth to a daughter at Danderyd Hospital in Stockholm." "The baby weighs 3645 grams and is 49 centimetres long.
Prince Carl Philip was present at Danderyd Hospital throughout the birth." While Royal fans eagerly await the reveal of both a photograph and the name of the new arrival, it is made clear that unlike her older brothers who enjoy the title of His Royal Highness, she will be known by another designation due to King Carl XVI Gustaf's 2019 decision, reports the Mirror.
