'Four weeks is simply not long enough': Sacha Lord asks Hatch bosses to give food vendors lifeline notice extension

Sacha Lord has written to the developers behind food hub Hatch in a bid to ask them to extend their notice period for vendors.

Last week, Bruntwood announced that Hatch, located on the Oxford Road Corridor, will close on September 30 with the site already earmarked for redevelopment as part of leisure chain STACK.

Vendors claimed they were given just a month’s notice of the news, giving them little time to find new premises to operate from.

Lord, Manchester’s night time economy advisor and co-founder of Parklife and the Warehouse Project, described the month’s notice for staff and vendors on Friday (September 1) as ‘very poor’.
