On Sunday night it was confirmed that City would be one of the 12 founding clubs of the new Super League which guarantees qualification for all 15 founding members - 12 of which have been announced - every single year.
The competition would then be supplemented each year by five teams who could qualify based on sporting merit and it's fair to say those plans have not gone down well.
Fans are furious to see plans for a competition that appears to solely serve the richest of the game, and some have even taken to the Etihad Stadium
