Four rushed to hospital after major crash in Scottish Borders

Four people have been rushed to hospital following a crash in the Scottish Borders. The incident took place shortly after 2pm today when two motors collided on the A68 at the Ravenswood Roundabout, near Earlston.

Emergency services, including Police Scotland and Scottish Ambulance Service, sped to the scene to assist the casualties, four of whom were taken to Borders General Hospital.

Photos taken at the crash site show several fire appliances and blue-lit ambulances parked on the road near Melrose. Firefighters decked out in fluorescent clothing and hard hats gather at the spot while at least two uniformed officers consult in the background.The road has been locked down for enquiries to be carried out, although Traffic Scotland have confirmed that the carriageway has reopened to motorists.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.05pm on Wednesday, October 26, police and emergency services were called to a two-vehicle road crash on the A68, Ravenswood Roundabout, near Earlston.“Four people have been taken by ambulance to Borders General Hospital.
