A four-month-old baby boy has died in hospital following a horror car crash on a ring road in Leeds. The accident, which happened on Monday evening (February 12) on Horsforth New Road near Rodley, involved a Vauxhall Vivaro van and a Toyota Auris, LeedsLive reports.
Several people, including the baby, were rushed to hospital following the collision. Police have now confirmed that the baby boy passed away in hospital on Wednesday, February 14, due to severe injuries from the crash. West Yorkshire Police are now asking for anyone who saw the accident on the A6120 Ring Road between Calverley and Rodley at around 4.55pm on Monday to come forward.
The crash involved a Vauxhall Vivaro van travelling northbound, which collided head-on with a Toyota Auris. Two women from the Toyota and a man from the Vivaro were also taken to hospital for treatment.
The 54-year-old male driver of the Vivaro was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and has been released on bail while investigations continue.
