Four men have been arrested following reports of a sword attack at a kabaddi contest. Armed police were called to a 'large scale disturbance' at the Derby Kabaddi grounds in Alvaston, Derbyshire at around 4pm on Sunday.
A witness described a man being shot and then attacked with a sword, saying: "One man was shot and then when on the floor chopped up with a sword." Video footage on Twitter reportedly shows crowds running away as what are thought to be gunshots are heard, the Mirror reports.
Photos from the scene show armed police. Some witnesses claim two gangs were responsible for the violence. The men, aged 24, 28, 30 and 38, remain in police custody on suspicion of possession of a firearm and violent disorder.
Initial reports said three people had been taken to hospital but, Derbyshire police now say that four people were taken to hospital.
