Four arrested over 'administering noxious substance' after deaths of two women in nearby homes

The four people arrested in connection with the deaths of two women in nearby properties were nicked on suspicion of administering a noxious substance, police have confirmed.

Cops were scrambled to a flat on Ajax Way in South Bank, Middlesbrough, on Monday night, where they discovered the body of a 35-year-old woman.

At around 10.30am the following morning, officers were called to South Court, half a mile away, after a woman, 38, was found dead within a property.Cleveland Police have launched a probe into the two deaths, which are currently being treated as unexplained.

The women have now been formally identified and their families have been informed, Teesside Live reports.Today, the force confirmed that a 43-year-old woman had been arrested on suspicion of administering a noxious substance in relation to both incidents.
