Fountains of Wayne singer Adam Schlesinger is on a ventilator in hospital as he battles coronavirus. The band's frontman, 52, is said to be "very sick" after contracting Covid-19 and has been under the care of doctors in upstate new York for more than a week.

The news of his health crisis was first reported by a fan page, which tweeted: "Sad news friends, Adam Schlesinger who is 52 year old from Ivy and the Fountains of Wayne has been on a ventilator for 2 weeks (and is in a medical induced coma) because of COVID-19. "We send our prayers to him, his family and doctors." His attorney Josh Grier clarified the reports to Variety, saying: "He’s very sick and is heavily sedated, as are all people on ventilators, but no one has used the word
