‘Fortnite’ Refund Notifications Being Sent To Eligible Players For Federal Trade Commission Settlement

deadline.comThe Federal Trade Commission has started to notify consumers that they may be eligible for refunds for in-game purchases on the popular multiplayer online game Fortnite.
The FTC has a $245 million settlement fund with Epic Games, the Fortnite manufacturer distributor. It has been accused of using design tricks to lure players into unwanted in-game purchases.
Those charged for in-game currency for items between January 2017 and September 2022, or had their child make Fortnite charges without their knowledge between January 2017 and November 2018, are eligible.
Those who had their account locked between January 2017 and September 2022 after they complained to their credit card company about wrongful charges are also eligible.
