But he couldn’t have expected it to be so damn frightening at the same time. On Thursday’s second episode of The Golden Bachelor, Gerry, 72, was on his very first one-on-one date when the headlights of his convertible malfunctioned on the freeway drive from Malibu to Sun Valley.
Ironically, Gerry had just shared his thoughts about the first date by saying “I’m a bit scared. it’s been so long and I’m sort of out of practice.
There’s many things that could go right and a lot of things that could go wrong.” Next thing you know, Gerry is announcing to his date Theresa, 69, that “my headlights aren’t working” while they putter down the slow lane of a Los Angeles freeway. “Believe me, I’m not a California driver,” Gerry says in the voiceover. “I live in Northern Indiana.
