There, a young couple come across their doppelgängers. The film premiered at the Toronto festival. The idea for the plot grew out of the helmer’s long-ago trip to Southwest Iran to look at places where the Iran-Iraq war took place.

Christopher Vourlias Dubai-based sales agent Cercamon has acquired world sales rights excluding Switzerland for Laura Kaehr’s first feature documentary “Becoming Giulia,” which has its world premiere Sept. 23 in the Focus competition at the Zurich Film Festival. Produced by Point Prod, the outfit behind Elie Grappe’s Cannes Critics’ Week prize winner “Olga,” in partnership with SRG SSR, the film is an intimate and committed look at the journey of a woman who reclaims her body and herself to return to the stage. Shot over three years, “Becoming Giulia” opens with prima ballerina Giulia Tonelli returning to the main stage at the Zurich Opera House after an 11-month absence due to her first pregnancy. The film offers a sensitive portrait of an artist at the top of her craft, moving from rehearsals to opening nights to everyday life in the home, even as Tonelli juggles the competing demands of work and family. Along the way, the viewer also meets her family and collaborators, including upcoming Zurich Opera director and celebrated choreographer Cathy Marston.

Is what took place at the Kellersk Institute on Sprogø island widely known in Denmark?  Among young people, very few know about the Sprogø Women’s Home and the whole historical context. And they are angry that this wasn’t something taught in school. The whole political aspect of the sterilization laws is not something people know about. Denmark was actually the first European country to make eugenic-based sterilization laws, so when Nazi Germany made their laws they looked to the Danish laws. It all came from trying to control the gene pool of society. And it was developed at the same time as the welfare system, so the concept was that if the state needs to take care of people who can’t take care of themselves, then we need to reduce the number of people who can’t take care of themselves.

50 Cent has filed a lawsuit against a South Florida-based plastic surgeon who he claims used a picture they took together to falsely portray that he had underwent surgery on his penis at her clinic.The 47-year-old rapper, in court docs reviewed by TMZ, named plastic surgeon Angela Kogan and her businesses, Perfection Plastic Surgery and MedSpa, in a legal filing, saying that she had continued to circulate the photo they took to make it appear he'd had surgery on his genitals.The Queens, New York native said he initially took the photo in February of 2020 thinking Kogan was a fan of his, but she has continued to use it on social media in the time since. The latest: 50 Cent, 47, has filed a lawsuit against South Florida-based plastic surgeon Angela Kogan, who he claims used a picture they took together to falsely portray that he had underwent surgery on his penis at her clinicThe If I Can't rapper said in legal docs that the myth was perpetuated to a new extent when The Shade Room did a story last month on men undergoing procedures for sexual enhancement, using the image of the rapper and the plastic surgeon in connection with the story.50 Cent said that Kogan and her associates are aware he never underwent any type of surgery at the clinic, and wants them to cease the use of the photo under all circumstances.  He said that the notion suggested by the picture harms him professionally and personally and misuses his name and image.In addition, 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson III, is also seeking financial compensation from Kogan over publication of the image.
