Former Vice President Mike Pence Must Testify About Donald Trump Conversations Leading to January 6

Mike Pence is being told to testify. The 63-year-old former Vice President has been ordered to testify to a grand jury about conversations he had with former President Donald Trump that led to the January 6 Capitol uprising, according to CNN.

The ruling, which remains under seal according to the report, says Pence can still decline to answer questions related to his actions on January 6 while serving as president of the Senate for the certification of the 2020 presidential election.

He still has the ability to appeal. Trump has repeatedly lost executive privilege assertions he’s attempted to make amid the special counsel’s investigation. Jack Smith, the special counsel who is investigating the effort to overturn the 2020 election, subpoenaed Pence for testimony and documents earlier this year.
