John Rankin reckons Jamie Barjonas is showing the kind of form he displayed in his Rangers days after helping Hamilton Accies go clear at the top of League One tonight.Barjonas lit up the clash under the lights at New Douglas Park with a stunning strike inside 90 seconds, which set Accies on the road to a dazzling five-star display.Reghan Tumilty, Euan Henderson, Connor Murray and Joe McGlynn also got in on the act as rampant Accies maintained their unbeaten start to the campaign. It puts them three points clear of rivals Falkirk, who play tomorrow and then host Hamilton next Saturday evening live on BBC Alba.Rankin was delighted for his midfielder who joined from part-time Kelty Hearts in the summer and he believes the 24-year-old's first league goal of the season - a fine solo run and curling effort into the top corner - is a sign he is back to his best after various loan spells since leaving Rangers in 2021.Reacting to his side's display, Rankin said: "The first half irked me, but I'm delighted with the second half performance.
We were ruthless and there's some really good finishes there."Barjo's goal is great and he is a great talent. He's been in part time football for a number of years and it was important that he got back into full-time football and set the standards that got him his deal at Rangers."We are beginning to see that talent coming to fruition again."He's got his fitness up and his standards are rising.
I'm really pleased for him. After he got his goal, he was full of confidence and dictating play."He got his goal in Coleraine but to get his first goal at home, I'm delighted for him."But I thought Connor Murray's finish was just as good.
