Former Manchester United defender Steve Bruce is set to replace Valerian Ismael as West Brom manager after he was sacked, according to reports.
The ex-Bayern Munich centre-back was relieved of his duties after just eight months in the position after the Baggies managed just three wins in their last 10, one of which in their previous five outings, leaving them clinging onto a spot in the play-offs.
Bruce has been out of the managerial hot seat since his sacking at St James' Park in light of the Saudi Arabian-led takeover at Newcastle United, shortly after taking charge of his 1,000th game in management.
After scoring 51 goals in over 400 appearances in the North West, he was tentatively linked with the vacant role in November after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's sacking.
