Former Manchester United and Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini has tested positive for COVID-19 whilst in China. Ex-Belgium international Fellaini plays for Chinese Super League side Shandong Luneng, whose fixtures have been postponed indefinitely due to the coronavirus outbreak.

And the 32-year-old is believed to to be the first CSL player to have contracted coronavirus, despite the initial outbreak happening in the west of the country in Wuhan.

A club statement confirmed that Fellaini had fallen under the same illness that is currently sweeping across the globe. It read: “He is under observation and having treatment at a designated medical facility. “The club will do its best to help in the treatment and recovery of the player.” It’s
