Former Liverpool midfielder Stan Collymore has admitted that he was "perplexed" by the lack of opportunities Donny van de Beek was granted at Manchester United following his move to Everton.
The midfielder, who joined United from Dutch heavyweights Ajax in September 2020, has joined the Toffees on loan for the remainder of the season in a bid to spark his career back into life.
Van de Beek, who will wear shirt No.30 at Goodison Park, has made just 50 appearances at United and has not started a Premier League game since the final day of last season, meaning he will be desperate to resurrect his career on Merseyside.
Considering United paid a substantial fee to land the Netherlands international, it has proven to be massively surprising how limited his opportunities have been.
