It's fair to say Alex Telles' move to Manchester United has not gone to plan for the Brazilian. When United signed him in a £13.5million deal from Porto, it looked as though he was being brought in to usurp Luke Shaw from his spot in the side.
Shaw had been struggling for consistent form for a couple of seasons as the hangover from Jose Mourinho's dark days in charge continued.
Fans were crying out for a new left-back to be brought in to bring a bit more quality to the position, especially going forward.
Telles seemed like an ideal candidate: experienced, cheap and a real threat with the ball. During 195 games at Porto, he scored 26 goals and, even more impressively, grabbed 57 assists.
