The team behind one of the country's most popular games has issued a major new statement on its anticipated release - and it's bad news for devotees of the beloved franchise.
Football Manager 25 was originally due to be released back in November 2024, in line with previous editions. But Sports Interactive, the firm behind the game, delayed the launch after deciding the game wasn't ready for its traditional release date.
Now, the company has issued another statement on FM25, which will come as a blow for dedicated players. The company has decided to cancel FM25 due to a 'variety of challenges' in development.
It means the 2024-25 football season will be the first without a new Football Manager release since the game was first published in 2004-05.
