Football fans have been warned to allow extra time when travelling to tonight's City game after a collision has caused tailbacks of 40 minutes.
One lane of the M60 clockwise is closed between J1-J2, with huge queues stretching back to J23 at Ashton. It comes as huge numbers of people are expected to travel into Manchester city centre as Manchester City play Feyenoord at the Etihad and Sleep Token play at Co-op Live.
Transport bosses are telling fans attending either event to leave more time for their journey or re-route. Going to the City match tonight? Please allow additional time or re-route to avoid the delays." The Bee Network previously issued a warning over the busy evening, which is expected to see around 3,000 Feyenoord fans walk to the Etihad from Shambles Square. "There will be increased journey times around the city centre, in particular on Great Ancoats Street, the Mancunian Way, Ashton New Road, Ashton Old Road and Alan Turing Way," they said. "Background users of the network should re-route to avoid these areas or re-time their journey to travel earlier when the network will be quieter."
