Cheese-esque establishment, is getting a sequel in the fall of 2025. Universal Pictures and Blumhouse Productions, which backed the first film, confirmed the news at CinemaCon, the annual convention for movie theater owners that’s currently taking place in Las Vegas.
But they didn’t share an exact release date, plot details or returning cast members for the follow-up. Adapted from the popular video game, last October’s “Five Nights at Freddy’s” made a killing at the box office with $297 million globally and became Blumhouse’s highest-grossing film of all time.
Those ticket sales were especially impressive because the low-budget film was saddled with terrible reviews and it landed simultaneously on Peacock, the streaming service owned by NBCUniversal.
