Jadon Sancho is Manchester United’s top target in this summer's transfer window, but there is plenty of uncertainty over when that window will open and what football's financial landscape will look like when it does.
United know they would likely have to pay a club-record fee to land Sancho and, although United are among the clubs best-prepared to deal with the financial implications of the global pandemic, they are not immune to them.
If Sancho proves to be unattainable, there are a number of cheaper options they could consider, with several high-class players possibly available for cut-price fees because their contracts with their current clubs are due to expire next year.
