Five adorable Syrian hamsters are on the hunt for their forever homes after being born in an animal rehoming centre in Ayrshire.
The teeny rodents — who are a mix of white and brown colouring — were born in the Scottish SPCA’s Ayrshire Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre and are therefore fairly well-handled and used to human contact. But they can still be shy and get nervous, so would benefit from continued handling in their new home to develop their confidence.Syrian hamsters are not a sociable species who have been known to get aggressive with another, so these hamsters are looking for individual forever homes.A suitable cage with plenty of enrichment would help these babies come into their own.And some supervised exercise in a safe area wouldn’t go amiss, as they love nothing more than exploring their tunnels, toys and houses. The Ayrshire Live app is available to download now.Get all the local news in your area – plus features, football news and the latest on the coronavirus crisis – at your fingertips 24/7.The free download features the latest breaking news and exclusive stories while you can customise your page with the sections that matter to you.The Ayrshire Live app is available to download now on iOS and Android.
