A dad in his 30s who was "always cracking jokes and smiling" died just hours after feeling unwell at the Merseyside derby.Fitness instructor Paul McHugh passed away suddenly on Saturday, October 21, after coming home from the Liverpool v Everton match.The 37-year-old, from West Derby ,was dad to Sienna, 4, and had recently bought a house with his partner Megan.
Colin Campbell, manager at Lifestyles Alsop Fitness Centre in Walton, where Paul worked, told the Liverpool ECHO: "Paul was a friend to everyone he worked with.
He was always checking in with people outside the gym and asked them to give him a call if they needed anything. He had a really positive energy and was great to be around. "I was always telling him 'please send me some of that energy'.
He worked here for 14 years - he was part of the furniture. He had such a big personality. He was a bit of a wind-up, always cracking jokes and smiling.
