A tragic teen killed after being hit by a taxi has been named, as friends paid tribute. Daniel Griffiths sadly passed away one month ago today on Saturday, November 9, in the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, just four days after he was hit by a black Mercedes Vito taxi at around 4.10pm on Rutherglen Main Street.Despite the best efforts of emergency personnel, the 16-year-old died.
A 58-year-old has since been arrested in connection with a road traffic offence and released pending further enquiries.Daniel, who attended Trinity High School, was remembered as a 'king and hardworking' young man.
Carol McArdle, headteacher at his school, lead tributes, saying: "Daniel was a kind, hardworking, confident and talented pupil who contributed a great deal to our school and his local parish within the community.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Daniel's family and friends during this incredibly difficult time.
