Stockport's independent shopping scene has flourished over the past few years with a number of businesses opening in the town's historic quarter.
From plant shops and record stores to spots spelling magazines, gifts and sustainable fashion, the town has started to attract a weekend crowd in search of vintage gems and something a little different.
And while stores selling a variety of independent fashion and homeware items have popped up along The Underbanks, the town's historic mills are also playing host to Greater Manchester makers and creatives. Run by Emiko Studios, a slow fashion brand with its own shop on the Underbanks, it is located in a former cotton mill dating back to the early 19th Century.
