BBC One's hit high-school drama Waterloo Road will return for its fourth reboot series this September with Salford-born comedian Jason Manford taking on the role as the fictional academy's newest headteacher, Steve Savage.
The latest season, filmed and set in Greater Manchester, is made up of eight hour-long episodes which will premiere on Tuesday, September 10 at 9pm on BBC One.
All episodes will also be available to stream on BBC iPlayer from 6am that day. The first images of Manford's character Mr Savage have now been unveiled, along with a description of his on-screen persona.
The new head is described as a "charismatic charmer who impresses everyone he meets and isn't afraid to get his hands dirty to achieve the results he wants".
