First Lady Jill Biden to Attend King Charles' Coronation Ceremony

Following reports that President Joe Biden will not be attending the ceremony next month in London, CNN confirmed that the President spoke with the royal by phone on Tuesday (April 5) to confirm the First Lady is coming. “The President congratulated the King on his upcoming Coronation and informed him that First Lady Jill Biden looks forward to attending on behalf of the United States,” a White House readout of the call said. Keep reading to find out more… The first lady will attend the event set for Saturday, May 6. “The President also conveyed his desire to meet with the King in the United Kingdom at a future date,” the readout also noted.
The last coronation ceremony took place nearly 70 years ago as King Charles’ mother, Queen Elizabeth II, was crowned in June of 1953.
