People all across the country have been receiving the first of a series of cost of living payments. The first payment worth £301 from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) will continue to be issued to eligible claimants until the deadline hits this week.

All eligible claimants should have received their payment by Wednesday, May 17. If you haven't received the payment by this date but were expecting it then there are a few things you should do.

Firstly, if you receive benefit payments from Tax Credits only and no other low-income benefits such as Universal Credit, then you should have already gotten your first payment from HMRC on May 9 - if not then contact HMRC as soon as possible as there may have been a mistake.
