First 21 homes in £36.6m housing project for Ayr are complete

New housing at Mainholm in Ayr is on schedule with 21 two-bedroom bungalows already complete.The £36.6 million housing project, led by South Ayrshire Council, will see a total of 160 homes built on the site.It’s an exciting time for tenants who have already started to move into some of the completed properties.

They will see the transformation of the area first-hand, as a mix of one, two, three, four, five and six-bedroom properties are added to the development.There will also be open spaces, a children’s play park, cycle paths and even electric vehicle charging points.Councillor Martin Kilbride, Buildings, Housing and Environment Portfolio Holder for South Ayrshire Council, said: “It’s fantastic news that the housing development is on track.
