Firefighters worked through the night to tackle a huge blaze at a derelict mill in Bolton. The fire broke out at the building on Spa Road at around 3.35pm yesterday (Monday).
Huge plumes of smoke could be seen from miles around as they billowed from the derelict five-storey mill. Six fire engines were scrambled to the scene, as well as the air unit, technical response unit and a hydraulic platform.
In an update issued this morning, a spokesperson for the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said the fire was extinguished by crews overnight. A meeting will take place later to discuss 'the next steps for the building'. Spa Road remains shut both ways between Mayor Street and Moor Lane.
