The rescue operation coincided with a nearby pro-Palestine protest, which was being attended by about 2,000 people. Fire crews were later called to lift the stranded youngsters - reportedly a boy and a girl- to safety.
Footage from the scene shows several crew members conversing with the teens as they attempt to reach them with a metal ladder.
