Fire chief issues warning after huge blaze at Dovestone Reservoir

The fire on the moorland in Greenfield, Oldham, was one of three tackled by crews yesterday. Firefighters also battled moorland blazes near Tintwistle, just over the border from Tameside, and near Ramsbottom last night.

Bosses at Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) have today issued a warning. Anyone found lighting a fire, barbecue, or other objects like fireworks and sky lanterns, will be fined or could face prosecution.
