But new details about the five passengers’ final moments are just being released. On Monday, the US Coast Guard started what is expected to be a two-week hearing into the tragedy.
As part of the hearing, an animated video showed the sub’s journey to the bottom of the sea floor — including detailed accounts of the adventurers’ final moments.
According to authorities, the Titan began diving from an accompanying ship, the Polar Prince, off the coast of Canada at around 9:20 a.m.
