A bold crowdfunding campaign has been launched to film an entire first series of the Victorian drama shot in Paisley.The people behind ‘A True Mismatch’ accept the plea for a meaty £50,000 is a bold ask.And lead actor and co-writer Dan Reynolds said: “We will need all the help we can get.”The appeal has got off to a flying start and £1,500 is already in the bag.Don't miss the latest headlines from around Renfrewshire.
Sign up to our newsletters here.We have previously revealed the first episode of the rich-v-poor culture clash is complete and now being broadcast on Amazon Prime.The new funding would complete the remaining five episodes that will complete series one of the drama.Dan, from Johnstone, and the cast remain hopeful their efforts can be snapped up by a major broadcaster or film company.The project was kicked-off with a £5,000 crowdfunder a year ago.Dan,30, who plays pickpocket gang boss Harry Shaw, said: “We have some cracking story lines developing over the season and some big shocks which I’m sure the audience will love.“The £50,000 will be put back into the arts and keep creators here busy for the full year.“We plan on filming 90 per cent of it in Paisley and Renfrewshire.
However there will be other places we will need to film certain scenes.“Our new crowd funding campaign will raise money to film season one this year.”The first episode has clocked up 21,000 streamed minutes via Amazon Prime Video in UK and American networks.It received great feedback for an explosive start and much of it was filmed at the Sma’ Shot Cottages and on Church Hill at Oakshaw in Paisley.Permission is being sought to get it on Amazon Prime networks in Ireland and Australia.The first episode called “Only Fear” sets the scene and
