Fern Britton has made her first social media post after Phillip Schofield's tell-all interview was released, in which he spoke about his extramarital affair with a 'much younger' male colleague.65-year-old Fern used to present This Morning with Phil from 2001 until 2009, and the pair are believed to have fallen out when Fern left the ITV show.

But Phil stayed on, and would then spend years co-hosting the morning show with Holly Willoughby. However, Phil's career has been derailed after it was revealed he had an affair whilst still married to Stephanie Lowe, prompting his colleagues to comment on the situation.

The Mirror reports that Fern has been subtly hitting out at Phil in comments in recent weeks - but hasn't appeared to comment yet on a bombshell interview he gave to the BBC.In a candid chat that aired on Thursday, Phil made a public apology to those he deceived, saying: "I would say to everyone, to my family, my friends, my work colleagues, the public, to ITV, my management company, to everyone that I lied to, that I am desperately sorry."Taking to Twitter hours after the interview aired, however, Fern explained that she had been watching entertainment rather than tuning in to watch her former college face questions. She wrote on Twitter on Friday: "Just watched the final #TedLasso with cuppa in bed .

Tears rolling down my face but such a smile in my heart. What a show what a cast what a story."This was quite the contrast to a social media post she shared in May in which she referenced the ongoing Phil and This Morning controversy.
