A full Moon is always an exciting event in the astronomical calendar, but there's something extra special about another celestial object joining the full Moon as it lights up the sky.
This month's full "Snow Moon" will be joined by a bright star in the night sky, called Regulus, nicknamed "Heart of the Lion".
The aptly-named star will accompany the Snow Moon as it rises ahead of Valentine's Day on the evening of February 12 and into the early hours of February 13.
The shimmering companion is one of the brightest stars in the night sky and the brightest in the constellation Leo. Formerly known as Alpha Leonis, Regulus forms the "heart" of Leo the Lion.
