It is feared that killer suspect David Yates 'pre-planned' the killing of his fiance Marelle Sturrock as he dropped off his dog at his mother's home the night before she died. The investigation into her murder is ongoing but police are certain Yates, 36, killed Marelle, 35, and their unborn baby earlier this week before taking his own life.Officers believe Marelle’s murder could have been pre-meditated.A source told the Sunday Mail: “It is thought to have been pre-planned because David brought the dog to his mum’s house in Bearsden the night before and told her he had plans the next day.

It is not being considered as an accident – it was a brutal, frenzied attack.”Police descended on the couple's address on Jura Street in the Craigton area of Glasgow at 8.40am on Tuesday, April 25 after the force received a concern for person call.Officers attended and Marelle, who was 29 weeks pregnant, was found dead within.

Her baby did not survive.A hunt was subsequently launched for then-missing Yates, whose body was discovered two days later in a reservoir more than eight miles away in Mugdock Country Park in Milngavie, East Dunbartonshire. The Sunday Mail have also revealed that police were in contact with teacher Marelle and Yates before both of their deaths.

The force is now being probed by watchdogs over its handling of the situation to determine whether officers could have saved the mum-to-be's life before she was murdered.
