THE BBC’s adaptation of Pride and Prejudice made a huge splash in 1995 – who can forget that iconic scene where Mr Darcy emerges sopping wet from a lake? The dramatisation of Jane Austen’s famous novel was brought to life by screenwriter Andrew Davies. Prior to the TV series coming out, another version of Pride And Prejudice was written for the BBC in 1980 by the late Fay Weldon, who “died peacefully” yesterday morning aged 91.  Tributes flooded in to honour the award-winning author, who also penned The Life And Loves Of A She Devil, Praxis and Puffball.

JEREMY Renner has revealed the devastating effects of a tragic snowplowing accident in a new photo. The Marvel star broke his silence on social media after he was badly hurt while helping to clear snowy roads for his family on New Year's Day. Writer Fay Weldon, famous for books such as The Life and Loves of a She-Devil and Puffball, has died at the age of 91. Weldon's first novel was published back in 1967 and saw her shortlisted for the Booker and Whitbread literature prizes.Weldon grew up in New Zealand but was born in the UK.She published over 30 novels over her career.She also amde notable contributions to television and journalism.The star’s agent has released a family statement confirming the death.It said:  "It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Fay Weldon (CBE), author, essayist and playwright.”"She died peacefully this morning 4th January 2023."Notable celebrities and organisations have paid their tributes to the author. The Booker Prizes wrote on Twitter: “We are saddened to hear that the brilliant Fay Weldon has died.
