Father Ted creator Graham Linehan has threatened to sue an Edinburgh Fringe venue after it cancelled his show following complaints.
The writer, who has been critical of transgender issues, was due to perform at Leith Arches tomorrow.The venue revealed on social media that the Comedy Unleashed event due to run on Thursday had been cancelled after bosses learned the 55-year-old IT Crowd creator would be a special guest.
The writer, who also had cameos in Garth Marenghi's Darkplace and I'm Alan Partridge has now threatened to sue the venue if the decision is not reversed.
Speaking to TalkTV’s Julia Hartley-Brewer this morning, Linehan said: "It was cancelled within a couple of hours. So I had two hours of excitement and fans saying they were going to go.
