The holy month of Ramadan is set to begin this weekend and will see Muslims all around the world partake in a 30-day fasting period.
While the month is expected to begin on Saturday, April 2, it may vary depending on the sighting of the crescent moon. Traditionally the beginning and end of fasting is marked by two of the five daily prayers - Fajr at dawk and Maghrib at dusk.
It's important to note that the times for these prayers will vary slightly on different days, which means the times for opening and closing the fast will vary also.
According to Didsbury Mosque in Manchester, Fajr begins at 5.10am on Saturday which will mark the beginning of the fasting period.
