James Tavernier is bullish about Rangers' chances of beating Manchester United on Thursday night. United suffered two awful defeats to Bournemouth and Newcastle at Old Trafford in December and were recently staring a third straight home defeat in the face against Southampton.

Southampton were the better side for most of the game and Amad turned the game on its head with a late hat-trick. United were aware they needed to deliver an improved display against Brighton on Sunday, but they lost 3-1 and took another major step in the wrong direction.

Brighton have won six of their last seven games against United and there is no longer a fear-factor at Old Trafford for visiting teams, which has been a huge problem this season.

United's players have been heavily criticised and Ruben Amorim has admitted they could be the "worst United team in the club's history", so Rangers will smell blood on Thursday.
