A dedicated doctor from Bolton who looked after critically-ill Covid patients was killed in a car crash as he was on his way to teach medical students in Blackpool.
Dubai-born Jyothis Manalayil was travelling from Lancaster Royal Infirmary Hospital to Blackpool Victoria Hospital on June 10, after a night shift, when he was involved in a collision with a Range Rover.
Known as Jyo to his friends and family, the 27-year-old doctor suffered fatal injuries when 'for unknown reasons' his Kia crossed into the other carriageway and collided with the other car.
Jyo's family described him as ‘compassionate, dedicated and always striving for the best in his career' and who always went the extra mile for his patients, LancsLive reports.
