A family were reportedly left distressed after the straps being used to lower their loved one's coffin into a grave broke and their uncle's remains fell out.
MP Jake Berry spoke out about the incident, which occurred on January 22 of this year, in Parliament on November 17 as part of an ongoing debate on regulation of funeral directors.
Mr Berry, an MP for Rossendale and Darwen, reported that the ordeal occurred at Darwen Cemetery in Lancashire, Lancs Live reports.
