Family pays emotional tribute to mum killed following horror crash

Heartfelt tributes have been paid by the family of a mum killed following a crash on Friday.Natalie Hawkins, 35, died after following the smash on the A89, between Armadale and Westrigg, at around 9.15pm.A Toyota Celica was travelling westbound on the road when it allegedly collided with a motorcycle.

Ambulance crews attended but Natalie was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.Her heartbroken family say “a void has been left in the hearts” of anyone who knew the mum-of-two.In a statement released through Police Scotland, her family said: “‘The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched, they must be felt with the heart.“Natalie is an epitome of this quote and has left a void in the hearts of her two daughters and anyone who knew her.”The Toyota Celica left the road and ended up on a grass verge and the 20-year-old male driver was taken to hospital as a precaution.

The road was closed for several hours to allow collision investigators to conduct enquiries at the location.A 20-year-old man was arrested in connection with alleged road traffic offences.

He has been released and police say their enquiries are ongoing.Sergeant Scott Kirkpatrick said: “I am appealing to anyone who was on the A89 around the time of the incident, who may have seen the vehicles prior to the collision, to contact us.“We are in the process of piecing together the full circumstances of the incident and it’s important we have all the information.
