A family of three who are forced to share a bedroom in Glasgow have spoken of their desperation to escape their overcrowded flat - with a new baby expected in just two weeks.
Pregnant mum Sarah Al Mussawi says her five-year-old son Alfahid already doesn't have enough space to play and is worried about where her new born infant will sleep.
Sarah, 31, and husband Rafid, 39, have been trying to get a two-bedroom social housing flat for about a year with no success since she moved in with him in Knightswood.Their current bedroom, which has a bed for the couple wedged up against one for Alfahid has no extra space for a crib.Rafid, said: "Where are we going to put the baby?
The home is a problem as there is no space. It is very hard. I know of a lot of people who are single and have two bedrooms (in social housing)."Currently the new baby's belongings are being stored in a car outside their flat and in a box in the living room.
